Medical Residency Programs

Authority Health GME,

A Teaching Health Center Program

Each of the medical residency programs of Authority Health GME is an approved Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) program funded by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA). Authority Health was created to establish an innovative community-based model for residency training that will enhance physicians’ skills and broaden their perspectives in the service of diverse, vulnerable populations. Further, in anticipation of the expansion of the Medicaid-eligible population in 2014, the Consortium aims to increase the supply of health professionals working in medically underserved communities.

Upon completion, residents receive a diploma from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Residents also complete a required population health certification program, provided by the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
